Terms and Conditions for Tours and Excursions

Deposit & Payment

Deposit: A deposit, per person, of 10% of our price is required to secure the booking of long tours (those over 3 nights), plus our Saffron Harvest Tour. Reservations will be confirmed upon receipt of the deposit, which should be made 90 days prior to departure date.

In the case of short tours (those under 3 nights, other than The Saffron Harvest) cooking classes, specialized tastings & tapas tours, a deposit is not required and reservations will be confirmed upon receipt of the payment of the total price of the tour or activity.

Final and Total Payment: Final payment for long tours (those over 3 nights) & The Saffron Harvest Tour is due 30 days prior to the first day of travel. If payment is not received at the due date, it will be understood that the client desists from the reservation and the agency will proceed to cancellation, keeping the deposit as cancellation expenses.

In the case of short tours (those under 3 nights, other than The Saffron Harvest) total payment must be received 30 days prior to the first day of travel and, in the case of the cooking classes, specialized tastings & tapas tours, 15 days prior to the scheduled day of the activity. Reservations will be confirmed upon receipt of total payment.

For tailor-made trips, we require:

  1. A non-refundable 300 Euro deposit to create a customized itinerary for you and your group which goes towards the total payment
  2. The remaining balance is due 60 days prior to the start date of tour.  If the remaining balance is not received at the due date, the reservation is subject to cancellation.
  3. In the event the start date of the tour is fewer than 60 days away, we require payment in full.

If the client cancels the tour, he/she will compensate the agency for any management expenses incurred due to cancellation beyond the 300 Euro deposit.


Prices quoted are in Euros, per person, based on double occupancy.  Single supplements apply.  Prices quoted are based on number of participants in tour.

Refund Policy

No unused portion of the tour will be refunded.  If for some reason you choose to not participate in a paid activity or decide to return home during the tour, we will not be able to reimburse.


Our Cancellation Policy

Cancellations: In view of their characteristics and operational setup, many of the services offered are subject to special contractual conditions. Upon cancellation by the client of any long or short tour after paying either the deposit or the total price, he/she shall compensate the agency for management of cancellation expenses (equaling the 10% deposit), together with any rightly justified annulment expenses that the agency must afford, and a compensation or penalty consisting of 5% of the total price of the tour, should cancellation occur between 15 and 10 days prior to departure, 15% between 10 and 3 days, 25% within the last 2 days, and a 100% if the client is not present at the starting point and time of the tour.

In the case of cooking classes, specialized tastings and tapas tours, a special penalty consisting of 50% of the total price will be applied if cancellation occurs between 15 and 7 days prior to the scheduled date of the activity, and a 100% if cancellation occurs within the last 7 days, or if the client is not present at the starting point and time of the activity.

In the event of special contracting conditions, clearly explained to the client in the publicity of the tour or clarified when making the reservation, the Company will revert on the client any economic consequences derived from cancellation.

Cancellations due to medical reasons can be covered by travel insurance, which is strongly recommended

Full refunds will be made in the event of cancellation on the part of the company, unless such a cancellation is caused by “force major”.

If the minimum group size is not reached, the agency will offer clients the choice, 15 days prior to departure, of either being fully refunded or accepting a group surcharge and continuing with the tour.

We at Casa Abril strive for excellence in providing our guests with memorable experiences in Spain.  In order to best serve our clients we negotiate in advance with our service providers to secure the best locations and rates. We guarantee payment to our service providers and will not jeopardize our reputation with them.

In the event a guest cannot participate on the tour and has to cancel, it affects everyone.  Therefore, we strictly adhere to our cancellation policy.

Refunds: There will be no refunds for any unused portion of the tour decided by the client.


Travel and Cancellation Insurance

Tour Insurance Protection: As required by Law, and in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act of Spanish Law (Ley 1/2007 General de Defensa de Consumidores y Usuarios) the Agency informs clients of the existence of Travel Assistance and Cancellation Insurance, for added protection and convenience during travel, and as protection against possible cancellation charges.

Please review your health insurance policy for overseas temporary coverage.  In addition to travel insurance, we strongly suggest to all of our guests to purchase cancellation insurance to prevent any unfortunate financial loss in the event you should have to cancel your vacation plans.


Travel Documents

Please consult the Spanish Embassy for visa requirements at: http://www.spainconsul-ny.org/consula.do/consulados.html.

We are not responsible for arranging visas or travel permits.

Passports, visas, documents: All travelers, without exception (including babies and persons under 18 years of age), shall carry valid documentation, whether passport or National Identification Document (for those countries where passport is not required), and be provided, prior to travel, with any visa, permit, vaccination certificate, etc., that is considered necessary for the trip.

General information regarding conditions applicable to citizens of the Member States of the European Union concerning passport or visa issues, as well as sanitary requirements for the trip and stay, will be assumed by our partners in Spain. Therefore, the Company will inform clients of the necessary requirements regarding documentation, while the client is held solely responsible for obtaining these documents and complying with requirements, and the Company cannot accept any type of responsibility derived from these concepts.

Transfer: Where transfers are included, there is one scheduled group transfer for arrival and departure at a designated time and place. It is the responsibility of the tour participant to be at the transfer point at the designated time. Where transfers are not included in the program, it is also the responsibility of the participant to reach the starting point of the tour at the designated time. The client will be made responsible for the consequences of not being present at the time and place foreseen for any transfer.

Change of hotels or services: the agency reserves the right to change itineraries and/or substitute services, hotels or restaurants of equal quality, given that justified circumstances should arise.

If The Company should be forced to modify main elements of the tour, the client shall receive notice as soon as possible, and always a minimum of three days in advance, offering the possibility of cancelling the tour with a full refund, or accepting the modification of the initial route. If, after this notice of three working-days’ time, the agency receives no answer, it will be understood that the client wishes to cancel the reservation.



The Company will be responsible for the consequences of the non-execution or defective execution of the tour if this is a result of its proceeding. Nevertheless, the company will be exempt from this responsibility due to “force major” or facts that neither the agency nor its suppliers have been able to avoid, or when the cause is attributable to the client or a third person.

The client shall communicate to the agency in a written form and as soon as possible any non-fulfillment in the execution of the tour that may have been noticed.

Casa Abril (Sister company of Global Bridges LLC) and its representatives act only in the capacity of an agent/independent contractor of all air/land transportation, activities, sightseeing, tour operators and hotels, which provide services included in the specified tour.  The individual tour participant agrees that Casa Abril and its representatives shall not be responsible for any expense or liability resulting from labor disputes, war, acts of terrorism, government restraints, weather conditions, sickness, pilferage or any other cause beyond their control.  Casa Abril and its representatives reserve the right to accept, or to retain or refuse any person as a participant of any tour or to cancel any program of a tour if circumstances so demand.  Casa Abril and its representatives reserve the right to cancel any tour prior to departure for any reason (including insufficient number of participants) or change the itineraries and/or substitute services or hotels of equal quality without prior notification.


Legal Release and Assumption of Risk

You are aware that, during the trip which you are choosing to participate in, you are subjecting yourself to certain risks including, but not limited to: forces of nature, travel in remote areas and wilderness terrain, and transportation by air, train, automobile, minibus, or other conveyance.  You are aware that medical services and facilities may not be readily available throughout the duration of the trip.  You recognize that such risks may be present at any time during the trip.

You are further aware that Casa Abril (a sister company of Global Bridges LLC) (referred hereafter as The Company) and its representatives act only as independent contractors/agents for the owners, contractors and suppliers, providing means of transportation and/or all other related travel services and assume no responsibility howsoever caused for injury, loss, or damage to person or property in connection with any service resulting directly or indirectly from: nature acts, detention, annoyance, delays and expenses arising from quarantine, strike, theft, failure of any means of conveyance to arrive or depart as scheduled, civil disturbance, government restriction or regulation, discrepancies or change of transit or hotel services, over which we have no control   You understand that if any trip has to be delayed because of weather, road conditions, flight delays, cancellation of common carriers, sickness or other contingencies for which we cannot reasonably make provision, the cost of your delay and/or replacement is not included in the trip fees.  All payments must be paid locally.

In consideration of, and in part payment of, reserve the right to participate in the trip, you will fully assume all risk of the above hazards and thereby release and discharge us and our agents from all actions, claims or demands resulting form your willing participation in the trip.  You are aware that this is a release of liability and a contract between you and The Company and that you sign it of your own free will.  This agreement shall serve as a release for you, your heirs, administrators, executors and for all members of your family including any minors accompanying you.

The information contained in the itinerary is correct to the best of the organizer’s knowledge, but the organizer accepts no liability for any inaccuracies therein.

The Company reserves the right to alter any itinerary or service at any time without penalty.

I understand that The Company reserves the right to take photographic or film records of any of its programs, and hereby agree that Casa Abril may use any such photographic or film records for promotional and/or commercial purposes.

On advancement of deposit to The Company, you therefore agree to be bound by the above recited terms and conditions.

This agreement will be interpreted according to the laws of the State of New York.  The venue of any dispute between parties that may arise for this agreement or otherwise shall be the New York State Court in Manhattan, New York.

The terms and conditions specified in this agreement override any prior agreements or understandings (both oral and written) concerning the subject matter, and may not be altered or amended except in writing.

I have carefully read this agreement and fully understand its contents.  I am aware that this is a release of liability and a contract between The Company and its affiliated organizations.  I acknowledge that I have carefully read The Company’s Terms and Conditions including its policy on cancelled trips and refunds.  I agree to this entire Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk and fully understand its contents.

Any payment including deposit indicates you have read and are in agreement with our terms and conditions, and thus release the company from any liability.


Period of validity: these conditions will be valid until December, 31st 2014
