It’s Spain’s diverse tapestry of different civilizations
and their respective cultures that have left a lasting
imprint on Spain. The history of the Phoenicians as trade
merchants along the Mediterranean coastal towns and Moors
who settled primarily in Andalucía for over 700 years is not
only visible in the architectural styles of their historical
buildings but also in its regional cuisine.
Cadiz – “One of Europe’s oldest ports” Of course we cannot forget the master painters who left
their mark on Spain…Velazquez, Goya, El Greco, Miro,
Picasso, and Dalí are just a few of the celebrated and world
famous artists. Albéniz, Rodrigo and Segovia composed some
of the most famous classical musical notes of Spain’s
history or famous arias sung by María Callas. But we cannot
ignore some of the great modern guitarist composers like
Paco de Lucía and Tomatito and Spain’s favorite flamenco
singer Camarón de la Isla.
El Rastro – “Go for a traditional walk through
Madrid’s Sunday flea market”.
We invite you to explore with us the cultural nuance Spain
offers with its genuine hospitality.
Alhambra Tiles: “The last Moorish kingdom in Spain
was governed by King Boabdil and was defeated by the
Catholic Kings in 1492. The nearby town in Granada - “El
Suspiro del Moro”- was named after King Boabdil’s “sigh” as
he left surrendered his town.
