WHITE WINES
Pazo de Eiras, Vinos Artesanos de Calidad
DO: Rias Baixas, 100% Albarino
If you liked this, try a Ribeiro with Torrontes and
Treixadura.
Also, along the same lines are crisp, tangy whites from
Rueda made with Verdejo and Viura.
The “alluvial” soil, wet, cool climate and Atlantic breeze
is what makes these wines taste so special.
Vina Godeval, 2001, Bodegas Godeval
D.O.: Valdeorras, 100% Godello
Vina Mein, Casal de Mein

Tio Pepe Fino, Gonzalez Byass
DO Jerez, 100% Palomino Fino
If you liked this, try a “Manzanilla” from Sanlucar de
Barrameda
The “albariza” soil, Atlantic breeze, and lack of rain is
what makes this wine so special.
ROSADOS

Clos del Mas, Clos del Mas
DO Priorat, 65% Garnacha, 35% Carinena
Mas Viló, Maset del Lleo
DO Priorat, 65% Garnacha, 35% Carinena, 6 months French oak
Thanks to Priorat’s “Llicorella” or quartzite & slate soil
we have a very unique wine.
1434 Crianza, Don Alvaro de Luna
DO Madrid, 100% Garnacha
The sand, clay, limestone and arid climate bring out the
“spice” and acidity in this wine.
Grego, Vinos Jeromin
DO Madrid, 75% Tempranillo, 25% Syrah
If you liked this style, try wines from further south in
DO’s such as Jumilla, Yecla, and Bullas as they produce “jammy”,
stewed berries, with lots of body style wines. Carinena,
Bobal, Garnacha, Monastrell are typical varietals that
produce that style of wine. But if you prefer a little more
spice then try some wines from Toro.
Puerta del Sol Varietales, Vinos Jeromin
DO Madrid, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 30%
Tempranillo
Ramirez de la Piscina, Ramirez de la Piscina
DO Rioja, 95% Tempranillo, 25% Viura
Alternatives to try: wines from Cigales or Navarra that
offer similar profiles and Ribera del Duero wines makes even
fuller-bodied wines from Tempranillo.
Marques de Caceres, 2003, Bodegas Caceres
D.O. : Rioja, Tempranillo (80%), Garnacha (20%)
The combination of a temperate climate with alluvial,
calcareous clay, and in some places ferruginous soil
provides the perfect place to grow the Tempranillo varietal.
